Perennial Quakinggrass

Briza media, commonly known as Perennial Quakinggrass, is native to Europe and parts of Asia, thriving in a variety of habitats including grasslands, meadows, and open woodlands. This perennial grass typically grows to a height of 30 to 60 centimeters, forming a loose, tufted clump that sways gracefully in the breeze. Its notable characteristics include slender, linear leaves that are green to bluish-green in color, and delicate, nodding inflorescences that resemble small, pendulous bells, giving rise to the common name. The flowers bloom in late spring to early summer, followed by distinctive, flattened seeds that are dispersed by wind, contributing to its spread in suitable environments.
