Rattlesnake Brome

Bromus briziformis, commonly known as Rattlesnake Brome, is a perennial grass native to the western United States and parts of Canada. This species typically grows to a height of 24 to 36 inches, forming a dense, upright clump with a distinctive, fine-textured appearance. The leaves are narrow and elongated, featuring a soft, hairy texture that contributes to its overall aesthetic appeal. The flowering period occurs in late spring to early summer, producing loose, nodding panicles of spikelets that turn a golden hue as they mature, followed by small, elongated seeds that are dispersed by wind and animals, aiding in its propagation across various habitats.
