Shortstyle Onion

Allium brevistylum, commonly known as Shortstyle Onion, is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the western regions of North America, particularly found in areas such as California and Oregon. This species typically grows to a height of 30 to 60 centimeters and exhibits a clumping growth habit, forming dense tufts of foliage. The leaves are linear, strap-like, and can reach lengths of up to 30 centimeters, with a characteristic glaucous (bluish-green) coloration that distinguishes them from other Allium species.

The flowering period of Allium brevistylum occurs in late spring to early summer, producing spherical umbels of small, star-shaped flowers that are predominantly white to pale lavender in color.
