Dragon’s Mouth

Arethusa bulbosa, commonly known as Dragon’s Mouth, is a perennial herbaceous plant native to North America, primarily found in the northeastern United States and parts of Canada. It typically inhabits wetland areas, including bogs, fens, and marshes, where it thrives in acidic, nutrient-poor soils. The growth habit of Dragon’s Mouth generally reaches heights of 15 to 40 centimeters (6 to 16 inches). The plant features a rosette of narrow, linear leaves that can grow up to 30 centimeters (12 inches) long, which are often basal and arise from a tuberous root system.
