Texan Great Ragweed

Ambrosia trifida var. texana, commonly known as Texan Great Ragweed, is a variety of the species Ambrosia trifida, which is native to the central and southern regions of the United States, particularly in Texas and surrounding areas. This plant typically grows in disturbed areas, such as roadsides, fields, and along riverbanks, where it can thrive in full sun to partial shade. The growth habit of Texan Great Ragweed is characterized by its robust stature, often reaching heights of 1 to 3 meters (3 to 10 feet). The plant has an upright form with a branching structure that can become quite bushy, contributing to its dominance in certain habitats.

The leaves of Texan Great Ragweed are one of its most notable features; they are large, deeply lobed, and can measure up to 30 centimeters (12 inches) in length.
