Anacyclus clavatus, commonly known as Whitebuttons, is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. This species is native to the Mediterranean region, particularly found in countries such as Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia, where it thrives in sandy and rocky soils. Whitebuttons typically exhibits a low-growing habit, reaching heights of 10 to 30 centimeters. The plant forms a rosette of basal leaves, which are finely divided and have a feathery appearance, contributing to its distinctive foliage.

The flowers of Anacyclus clavatus are one of its most notable features, forming solitary or clustered heads that resemble small daisies. Each flower head consists of white or pale yellow ray florets surrounding a central disc of tubular florets, which are usually yellow.
