This variety is adapted to the desert environment and typically grows in sandy or gravelly soils, often in disturbed areas or along roadsides. The growth habit of Coachella Milkvetch can reach heights of approximately 30 to 60 centimeters, exhibiting a bushy form with a dense arrangement of stems that can spread outwards, contributing to its overall robustness in its native habitat.
The leaves of Coachella Milkvetch are pinnately compound, typically consisting of 11 to 17 leaflets that are narrow and linear, providing a feathery appearance.
