Littleleaf Greentwig

Brongniartia minutifolia, commonly known as Littleleaf Greentwig, is native to the temperate regions of South America, particularly found in the mountainous areas of the Andes. This perennial shrub typically reaches heights of 1 to 2 meters, exhibiting a bushy form with slender, upright stems that are often covered in a fine layer of hair. The leaves are small, lanceolate, and arranged alternately along the stems, providing a delicate appearance that contrasts with the robust structure of the plant. During the flowering season, clusters of small, white to pale yellow flowers emerge, attracting various pollinators, including bees and butterflies. The fruit is a small, dry capsule that releases tiny seeds, which are dispersed by wind and animals, contributing to the plant’s ecological role in its native habitat as a pioneer species in disturbed areas.
