Mountain Spleenwort

Asplenium montanum, commonly known as Mountain Spleenwort, is a perennial fern belonging to the family Aspleniaceae. This species is primarily native to the temperate regions of North America, particularly found in the eastern United States and parts of Canada, where it typically inhabits rocky outcrops, cliffs, and shaded crevices in forests. Mountain Spleenwort usually grows to a height of 15 to 30 centimeters (6 to 12 inches) and exhibits a rosette growth habit, with its fronds emerging directly from a creeping rhizome.

The leaves of Asplenium montanum are one of its most notable characteristics. They are pinnate, with a glossy dark green appearance, and can reach lengths of up to 30 centimeters.
