Mexican Scaly Cloakfern

Astrolepis sinuata ssp. mexicana, commonly known as the Mexican Scaly Cloakfern, is a subspecies of the broader Astrolepis sinuata, belonging to the family Pteridaceae. This fern is native to the arid and semi-arid regions of Mexico, particularly thriving in states such as Coahuila and Nuevo León. It typically grows in rocky, well-drained soils, often in full sun to partial shade, and is adapted to xeric conditions, making it a resilient species in its native habitat.

The Mexican Scaly Cloakfern exhibits a distinctive growth habit, reaching heights of approximately 30 to 60 centimeters.
