Haller’s Bartramia Moss

Bartramia halleriana, commonly known as Haller’s Bartramia Moss, is a species native to North America, particularly found in the eastern United States and parts of Canada. This moss typically grows in moist, shaded environments, often in rich, organic soils, and can be found in forest understories, along stream banks, and in other damp habitats. It exhibits a growth habit that can reach heights of 2 to 10 centimeters, forming dense green mats or cushions that can cover the ground or rocks, contributing to the biodiversity of its ecosystem.

The leaves of Haller’s Bartramia Moss are lanceolate to ovate, measuring about 2 to 5 millimeters in length, and are arranged spirally around the stem, giving the moss a lush appearance.
