Arctostaphylos tomentosa ssp. subcordata, commonly known as Santa Cruz Island Manzanita, is a subspecies of manzanita native to the Channel Islands of California, particularly found on Santa Cruz Island. This evergreen shrub typically grows to a height of 1 to 3 meters, exhibiting a bushy form with a dense, rounded canopy. The stems are often reddish-brown and possess a smooth texture, which is characteristic of many manzanitas.
