Arizona Milkweed

Asclepias angustifolia, commonly known as Arizona Milkweed, is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the southwestern United States, specifically found in regions such as Arizona and New Mexico. This species typically grows in arid and semi-arid environments, often thriving in sandy or rocky soils. The growth habit of Arizona Milkweed can reach heights of approximately 30 to 90 centimeters (12 to 36 inches), exhibiting a clumping form that allows it to withstand the harsh conditions of its native habitat.

The leaves of Asclepias angustifolia are narrow and linear, measuring about 10 to 25 centimeters (4 to 10 inches) in length, with a smooth texture and a grayish-green color that helps reduce water loss. The plant produces distinctive clusters of small, tubular flowers that are usually pale yellow to cream in color, blooming from late spring to early summer.
