Michaux’s Milkweed exhibits a growth habit that can reach heights of 30 to 90 centimeters (approximately 12 to 36 inches), with a somewhat upright form characterized by a central stem that may branch at the top.

The leaves of Asclepias michauxii are lanceolate to linear, measuring about 5 to 15 centimeters long and 1 to 3 centimeters wide. They are arranged in an opposite pattern along the stem and have a smooth, green surface. The plant produces distinctive clusters of flowers that are typically pale pink to white, with a unique star-shaped appearance. Each flower has five petals that are reflexed, creating a tubular structure that attracts various pollinators, particularly bees and butterflies.
